There is data all around us. Together, we'll strengthen your work by asking questions of existing, available data and generate the systems for strengthening your own data collection. We'll find patterns, ask critical questions, and use that data to inform next steps and strengthen results.

Market Profiles & Dividends

From 2020 - 2023, USAA, a Fortune 100 company, made a $50 million philanthropic investment to 67 nonprofits working in education and workforce development in seven cities across the country, including San Antonio and Dallas. In 2024, assisted the team at SA2020 to assess and report the impact of this investment. We created profiles showing population-level data in education, employment, the economy, and related areas (e.g. digital inclusion) in all seven cities. The profiles show that people with a higher education degree are far less likely to live in poverty and more likely to have a higher earning potential.  Each profile is complemented with two dividends that show the impact in each city of just a 1% increase in higher education attainment and the elimination of poverty among people working full-time and year-round. For example, the first dividend shows that a 1% increase in higher education attainment would be an additional 7,679 college-educated people in Dallas County. That would lead to a $175.9.7 million increase in total county income and a $22,906 increase in annual income per person. The dividends proved to be a powerful resource for USAA and the nonprofit grantees to amplify the impact of their work.
